Body Image After Baby

I've been wanting to blog about my feelings toward my body since becoming a mom, and when I picked up the September issue of Elle magazine, I was inspired and excited because Keira Knightly just said it so perfectly:

".... as a woman, you hate certain parts of your body. You go through those periods where you look in the mirror and you think, Oh, if only I had different legs or arms or whatever. You go through pregnancy and labor and then feeding the kid and you go, Wow, my body is totally amazing, and I'm never going to not like it again, because it did this, and this is fucking extraordinary."

Since being pregnant and giving birth to my precious Henry,  I have a new found love and appreciation for my body.  I no longer criticize or judge it; I don't agonize over food choices or guilt myself for something I've eaten.   My body made a life and sustains that life, and I'll never say a bad thing about it ever again.  

We don't have to have babies to love our bodies unconditionally;  it's just a choice.  You are a beautiful miraculous creature, and you should tell yourself so every day.
